Paige Reads Her First Book

Fall 2010
Paige has been working hard to know all of her letters, upper case and lower case, their names and the sounds they make. She has been working on putting letters together to make words and learning about words that rhyme. All of her hard work has paid off and at age 4, Paige reads her first book, "Cat." Here she is proudly showing the book she read. I love that my kids love books.

Noah Plays Fall Soccer

Noah improves so much each season. This was a new soccer team and league for him. He had Jeremy as his coach for the last three seasons and the same team of players. Noah did great to adapt to the new team and coaches. We are proud of his hard work. We love watching his games.

Paige Plays Fall Soccer

Wow, what a difference. The second time around is much better. Paige is did much better this season for soccer. She didn't give up! She stayed playing and she played hard and she actually played! It was fun to watch. Her team's name was the Pink Ladies (although they wore red and white). Cute girls. I think the fact they are an all girl team playing other all girl teams helps a lot. Way to go Paige! She was very happy to receive her second soccer trophy at the end of the season. She proudly displays both on her dresser in her room.

Paige and Mom at the Zoo

While Noah and Dad are away...Mom and Paige go to the zoo. We love our zoo pass and we sure do get our money's worth out of it. Here Paige and I met friends at the zoo. While we waited for our friends, we took some photos. Paige was happy to have a chance to play with one of the turtles out for a walk thanks to the zoo volunteers.

Teaching Artist Residency

I did a teaching artist in residency at a school in Meridian, Idaho for 5th graders. This residency was through the City Arts Commission and we focused on integrating creative dance with character building. I collaborated with the school counselor intern and teachers and principal and the students had a narrative dance performance at the end for the whole school. Grandma Karen saved us and was the narrator of our performance. It was a short residency, like most, but in the amount of time we had, the students did a great job. I was proud of their hard work and the performance they did.

Two Weeks in Utah

I had a teaching artist in residency for the Utah Arts Council in Spanish Fork. I love teaching at Rees Elementary. They are great hosts and the students and teachers are great too. I worked with 3rd - 5th graders on integrating creative dance with the 6 Traits Plus 1 of Good Writing Skills. There was a family night, daily classes for students, and a performance for the school. It was all very successful. I had to take it easy being a high risk pregnant woman and the kids were very understanding. It is hard to not dance full-out as a dance specialist. Yes, it can be done, but it is hard to hold back. Paige and I stayed at Grandpa Roger and Grandma Cami's house the whole time. It was nice to spend lots of time with them and other Utah family members. I am surprised how fast the two weeks flew by. With part of the money I made from the residency, I bought our family a piano and am very excited for Noah and I to take lessons to learn.

Jeremy's Second XTERA Triathlon in Utah

We took a family trip to Utah to watch Jeremy compete in his second XTERA Triathlon in Ogden Canyon. There were some tough older competitors there. It was impressive to watch the athletes compete. Jeremy did great. His only injuries were his finger tips from a mountain bike wreck. Ouch! He ended the race at a decent time but his time was slower because he helped a few people along the way. What a good guy he is. Ogden Canyon was a beautiful setting to have the race. We loved the fall colors and the cool morning turn into a nice sunny day. Grandpa Roger, Grandma Cami, Grandpa Val, Grandma Marcia, and cousin Camree all came to watch Jeremy race. We are proud of Jeremy and all of his hard work and training.

Noah's 1st day of Second Grade

Fall 2010. In all the hustle and bustle of the first day of school. I didn't get Noah's picture taken till after he came home. Hence the no shoes and happy silliness pouring out of him. He loved his first day of school and likes his teacher and class. Hooray!
